Olympic Team Trials-Sailing - Light winds disrupt racing schedule |
PORTSMOUTH, RI USA-(17-2-2004) 49er, Tornado and Yngling sailors competing in South Florida will have a long afternoon ahead of them today on
Biscayne Bay where light winds have disrupted the day’s racing schedule.
As of 1400 hours, sailors in the 49er class had completed one race before being
postponed on the water. In the Yngling fleet, two races were abandoned,
with sailors in that class also postponed on the water.
The Tornado also
was under postponement, although ashore, and are now heading out to their
course where a northwest breeze is filling. They will not start their first
race before 1430.
Racing is underway in Ft. Lauderdale for the Europe and
Finn classes, but no details were available at press time.
